Ritter Reiter

Known variously across the internet as ritter_reiter (with small ‘r’s), Ritter (with a big R), or “that suspiciously golden-colored wolf”, Ritter is a reader of many years and a writer for some of them. A classical violinist by trade, his lifelong affair with the Muses has carried him across three continents, like a furry Odysseus who is more enthusiastic than the original, but just as lost. Ritter’s furry writing has been featured on the Voice of Dog podcast and in Plott Hound magazine; his non-furry writing can be found on AO3.
When he’s not teaching music or wrangling words onto the page, he assists with the University of Chicago’s Renaissance conclave simulation, and enjoys participating in the furry community’s grand masquerade. He lives in Chicago with his husband, Galen LK, where he routinely engages in retriever-coded activities.
MUSICIAN BIO
Ritter Reiter is a classical violinist with over 20 years of performance experience. He began violin studies at the age of 7 in his home country, and made his orchestral debut at 10 years of age. As a young violinist, he became a two-time prize winner of his country’s National Music Competition for Young Artists. He later obtained his university education at the same institution under Olga Voitova-Bloch, and at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg under Pierre Amoyal and Lily Francis. In 2024, an arm injury forced Ritter to leave the concert stage; he has since transitioned into full-time teaching.
Ritter is an accomplished recitalist, and has collaborated onstage with such pianists as Evgeny Sinaiski, Petr Jirikovsky, Rohan de Silva, Johannes Umbreit, Andy Feldbau, and Mary Anne Espina.
